monday musings

WHY DO YOU BLOG?

i was inspired to blog from the team over at how bourgeois. my sister, sarah, had sent me a link to random HB post that she thought that i would totally dig. at the time, jon & lauren blogged mostly about recipes and target, but something about the ability to post whatever you wanted whenever you wanted totally appealed to me. so after thinking about it for a week or so, vanover central station was born in february 2005. shortly thereafter i stumbled upon my neighbor jeremy's blog at pajamazzon.com, i then realized that i needed to kick it up a notch (bam!) and dove head first into this crazy world of blogging.

so here for your viewing pleasure are some classic vcs moments. ENJOY!

Meagan,

I can never get enough of that sweet sweet VCS. Thanks for the plug. I still love the fishstick "ode". Your posts never fail to make me laugh and I admire your honesty, something that many lack the guts to put out there. VCS fo'eva!

Why is blogging so much fun?!

I started back in 1999, I don't know if "blog" was really a word yet or not, but I kept an online journal of sorts.

It's sad to say that the most upsetting moment in my life was when my old website crashed, taking down with it all my posts from 2000 to the later part of 2004. I had printed out a few of my favorite ones, but other than that, the majority of my memories were lost forever.

I now email myself monthly backups and I'm totally paranoid about losing them again.

Blogging is the greatest, and I love how your blog has evolved. It's still on my daily lists of must-visit sites.

However, I did notice that in the highlights of your site, there is one thing you didn't mention, perhaps the GREATEST drama that ever happened to the site. I know it's gone forever, but that's when your site went from being good to being GREAT.

Keep writing, I'll keep reading.

aahhh blogging, i have to comment on this... it is adicting. very adicting. i don't find the time to write as much as i really want to, but i always seem to find the time to read everyone elses. by everyone, i mean that i am now addicted to just about every one that you have listed on your site. this is not good, especially since i do most of my reading here at work. i should seriously put a block on my computer here at work. i could be so much more productive! maybe i should go to bloggers anonymous...

keep up the good work meagan, work just wouldn't be the same with you the central :)

...okay back to that four letter word W-O-R-K
