ode to my dear atari

i used to race home after school to play with my atari. though my sister and i preferred frogger, we also used to regularly play e.t., star wars and strawberry shortcake's berry mix-up. oh how our hands would hurt from that awful joystick.

Hmm...I never had an Atari. I don't think I got into video games until Nintendo. (Evan will be so ashamed when he reads that...)

we had the rodeo game, it was so stupid. I recently sold my parents atari on Ebay and before it sold I plugged in the old rodeo game to see it one last time, it's still so stupid.
However, Pitfall rulz

I also, did not have atari. I did not have Nintendo, either. To this day, it is very amusing to watch me try to play any game. I lack the hand eye coordination. I swing and jump right along with the game.

When I was a kid, I played outside. If it was raining, I played outside. If there was some type of weather warning, I built forts inside! We had very good imaginations!

maybe you didn't play strawberry shortcake, but i'm positive that that is why i excelled at pre-school.

nicol, we played outside, too. a lot. you really don't even want to know of the games we played outside. crazy natives in the wild, pond scum and magnolia, roof top mooning, you name it, we did it.

Dude, it was all about Sneak 'n Peek.

sneak n' peak... never played it. we had about 10 games (a few super cartridges, you know) but sneak n' peek was not one of them.

when we were bad, my mom would tell us to go play frogger on gratiot. nice, eh?

After reading this post, I dug around the basement and found my Atari 2600!!!

The power cable looks pretty frayed, so I'm not sure if it works or not, but if it does - come on over and we'll play some Ms. Pacman on the widescreen!
