man oh man

the house is completely overwhelming me. it got a lot worse before it got better, and now at 95% completion, things are looking fantastic. but i'm still beat from the constant pounding on the walls and the endless questions from the contractors. i'll post some new picks of my super-cute all-new house tomorrow.

in the meantime, i'll catch you up. saturday i went to the obligatory baby shower for our friends brian & heide. (why don't men have to do these things?) it actually was quite nice despite being so incredibly not anywhere i've been. i managed to get all the way to 9 mile and groesbeck/schoenherr on time with only two minor detours. they are expecting twin boys as soon as tomorrow- i can't wait for the phone call!

after the shower, our fab neighbors invited us over for a bbq. i love hanging out with them and their free-sitter relatives. i drank a beer in-front of my (pregnant) former drinking partner and felt bad for a moment. but then i got over it. after all, after five hours at a baby shower i whole-heartedly deserved a corona. of course, when i went and got the mail monday afternoon, there was yet another invitation to yet another baby shower. phew! just the thought of it makes me tired.

monday, sue from the NH grain elevator invited us over to her farm to see her animals. she has 6 full-sized horses, (one is 38 years old!) 2 miniature horses, a puppy, two cats and 3 week old kittens, 2 rabbits, doves and pigeons not to mention a swingset and a trampoline. ky had so much fun and it was really interesting to take a ride around her 50 acres. i'm so not a farmer so i asked a lot of dumb questions, just like when i'm up at the elevator. oh well.

monday evening was a whole new ball of yarn. i became near-deathly ill with strep. seriously, i thought i knew what death felt like for a good six hours. i'm on antibiotics now, though so if anyone wants to make out, i'm game. haha. no no no. i am kidding.
