3 cups packed basil leaves
1/4 cup pine nuts (kylinn's favorite!)
1/2 cup parmesan cheese
1/2 cup evoo
3 cloves garlic
chop the basil and toss into a bowl. chop pine nuts and add to basil along with parmesan. mix well. mince garlic and add to evoo in a separate bowl. when thoroughly combined, add to basil mixture. blend and enjoy.
add to your favorite pasta, use as a dip with pita, or make a fabu pizza with the rest of your homegrown crop.

Looks great! But I think you used too much basil...
The last two years I can't get my basil plants to grow for the life of me. The get mediocre sized leaves and then they're done. Any secret here?
shut up, suzy.
to packed cups did nothing. it was more like a lime green color.
four loosely packed cups rocked.
daedra, i don't know. my basil is in a big ceramic pot under the canopy on my deck. i use organic potting soil and an organic vegetarian fertilizer from gardens alive. and i water regularly. come visit the NE side of detroit and i'll share. :)
that's a looong ways to drive for basil! :)
We have basil coming out our ears too!!! Mine grew like weeds this year. We just made fresh pesto last night. Similar recipe to yours but with more pinenuts and parsley too.
