i love my country, but i fear my government

(and not my current government, either. i support that. i elected that, and i will stand by that until president bush leaves office. i'm talking about our future government.)

so it's practically may and i still find myself unable to choose a candidate. why did all of the "good guys" have to drop out of the race? do i support my party with a trusted and true candidate, or one of the most interesting, well-spoken and intelligent people that i have ever seen? i'm so frustrated with the entire situation. i can't believe that i still haven't made a decision by this point, but i can tell you one thing... i'm sure as hell not voting for hil-dog.

sorry, hillary, i don't choose candidates based on gender, and if i were to help elect a woman, i certainly wouldn't support one who cried and whined about being a woman. put on your big girl panties and deal with it.

there i said it.

If the other option you're considering is Obama, Evan will disown you. Seriously.

But I agree; I don't particularly like any of them, either.

I thought you said the other night you already knew who you were voting for????

We are at a loss of who to vote for too!

I'm standing by my candidate.

Bros before Hos, yo.

I'm 75% McCain 25% Obama. I just don't love either, and I don't feel that we as a country can afford to elect Obama.

If it's between Hillary and McCain, I'm 100% McCain and I will join his campaign and put a huge sign in my yard. I kid you not.

I was really pulling for Huckabee and Romney. I'm just dissapointed in my options at this point, because I'm terrified of the extremes.

Well, we know who you voted for the last time around, and we all know how that turned out, don't we?

Also, could you elaborate on what it is exactly you are afraid of about the candidates? Are you afraid that McCain is not conservative enough, or are you afraid that Obama and Clinton are too Liberal?

In my opinion, voting for McCain would be voting for 4 more years of the same policies and practices that GWB put into place. I don't know about you, but I've had enough of this economic downturn.

With the Democrats, my only major concern is with experience, however, I do think they can present us with a solution that will focus on getting us back on our feet.

Coincidentally, my word verification for this comment is:

dumtyxn = dumb texan = coincidence?

W fo'eva baby.

And here are my thoughts on all of the Bush-haters. When people hate Bush for the pure fact that he's not Clinton, I just laugh. That is the most ridiculous (non)argument that I have ever heard. History is cyclical. There are always depressions and recessions and all of that. When the economy is good, people have a favorable opinion on our government, when it's bad, it's the same. Did Carter, for example, really do anything worthwhile? No. But he was in office when nothing was going on.

If you Bush Bash because of the war, then blame Clinton. Want to blame George Senior? Try me.

I'm a pretty liberal Conservative. I sit pretty centered on most issues.

And even though I fully support the war and our troops more than 100%, I'm tired and scared. I just want to end the war. It's been too long and Americans have their heads so far up their own selfish asses that they don't even think about it anymore. Honestly, do any of you follow it? Tell me the truth.

So you want me to elaborate on my fears? Here it goes: I'm afraid that McCain is going to send more troops. I'm afraid of assassination attempts on Obama because our country is full of idiots. And I'm afraid of Hillary because well, I just don't like her. I think she's ugly, boring, monotonous, and if you want a real reason then call me a misogynist.

How do you like me now!

We do. (Follow the war.) It's all that silly "once a Marine, always a Marine" nonsense. What can I say? ;)

George W. Bush isn't the worst president in history.

That honor would go to James Buchanan, the worst president in U.S. History.

And your right, you can't blame Bush for the war. The policies of previous administrations are just as much to blame as the policies of the current administration.

Do I think Bush has done enough to end the war in Iraq and Afghanistan? Not at all. I think one of the biggest mistakes we made was going to war in Iraq without the support of the United Nations. Instead of us being on a "peacekeeping" mission, like we are now, we would have at least had an international coalition that would help restore order.

The Clinton administration made plenty of poor decisions as well, why else would he have been impeached?

As for Obama and Hillary - there is so much attention put on the historical context of this election, the first serious female candidate, the first African-American candidate (though, the reason people like him more than, say, Jesse Jackson, is because he's "watered down"). Are either of them ready to run this country? I don't think so.

Much like you, I'm on the fence this election - I'm not a liberal conservative by any mean, but there is just something "off" about these candidates.

I think it will become more evident once the democratic nominee is announced, then we'll see who really shines.

Exactly. I'm so tired of hearing for that and I think that it is so ridiculous for it to be considered a victory for whatever group feels represented by them.

Change is good. I don't think the country should always be run by white Christian males, (I was pulling for the Mormon :P) but I just think it's insane that people are overlooking Clinton's bs just because she's a woman and "It's time we had a woman for President."

Look, when my sister was 5 or so, she'd march around the entire neighborhood introducing herself as the first woman president. And when I registered to vote (promptly after my 18th birthday) I registered through NOW. But it just shocks me that she expects women to vote for her just because we hold some common bond.

Anyway, Clinton took Pennsylvania anyway, so now we'll have to look at her ugly face a bit longer. But certainly not for four more years. Come on Indiana & North Carolina...

She has a face like a pug.

Meagan Vanover, CWP said...

That's insulting to pugs everywhere.

Doesn't she always look like she just sucked on a lemon?
