I'm pissed. I knew that they had better prices on cleaning supplies, but groceries? Well, bread, i did know. But with the limited selection of refrigerated items, I was shocked to see the price of my good ol Land O' Lakes was so much better.
Seriously. Now I am going to have to go to Target even more frequently.
We also buy Boca Burgers there because they are about $1.50 less than most other places.
Aimee loves that she doesn't work for Kroger anymore because now she can shop at all these other places and save money (believe it or not, she had a competition clause in her contract that discouraged her from shopping at anyone who was a Kroger competitor).
Fascinating. Well, I might feel like a dork in the Target checkout with my toilet paper coupons, but dammit, if that's how it has to be, that's how it will be!
No, that one is not a SuperTarget. The one on Southfield @ 13 Mile does have an expanded grocery section, but not full-on produce and everything. The Coolidge/Maple one is actually pretty wimpy by comparison.

One word for ya:
Distribution.
It's the same reason everything is so cheap at Wal*Mart.
They can buy more and distribute to more stores, so in turn, they have lower prices.
Target tends to have significantly better prices on certain items that places like, oh, Kroger.
We buy Kashi cereal there because it's $2 cheaper than @ big K.

i do that all the time. in minnesota, they have super targets where they actually have a full on grocery section. cannot here due to some union.
i buy cake mixes there alot. they have them for 99c.
There is a Super Target off of Maple & Coolidge Hwy.
scratch that...
I've been informed that I'm a dumbass and that it doesn't have a full-blown grocery section.
