adam came walking down the stairs after putting ky to bed last night. "i don't think that i like this book." he says, waving a little girls bible stories book in the air. "why is that?" i ask. "because i was reading the 'noah's ark' story and it says that [mrs. noah] has to obey. i don't want kylinn to think that women have to be submissive and obey men." "wow! i think it was just saying that she should obey god, not just men" i say. "do you like that any better?" "i'll have to re-read it and see." adam says softly.
i add, "i hope you remember that next time we have an argument... that women should not be submissive."
and get this... he says, "i didn't marry that kind of woman."
rock on.

we went to see your incredible husband at work today! he was very busy playing euchre on yahoo, haha! he was on his lunch though.
so i've been told. good thing you didn't go out of town and leave your sick husband
Your incredible husband once said "oh my God, I've married my mother!" Do you remember that incident? Btw, sometimes it is nice to be submissive. No one enjoys being in charge all the time. And if I were Noah's wife and he said, "Get in the ark, or you're going to drown", then I'd be the first one on board.
yes. grilled cheese sandwich. pinconning 2002. and i still won't eat those handles.
it wasn't about being in charge, it was more of a lesson on being subservient and obedient to his commands. if noah told me that i was going to drown, i'd jump in the boat, too. however, if he barked, "woman! get on board now!" i wouldn't do that silently. adam and i run on a very even plateau- though we might enjoy minor victories here and there, we're on a mutual level of respect. the mere thought of biblical foot-washing sets the womens movement back fifty years.
andy and i just say "do it!" but we both say it equally. :)
