last week i mentioned that my toddler was broken, but failed to explain what happened. so tonight when i got a phone call from lisa when it dawned on me that i've caused some concern.
last tuesday (november 7) after coming home from the polls and suffering a serious blow to the state governors position, kylinn hurt her knee. it's hard to explain, because it doesn't make much sense, but if you can picture our leather recliner fully extended with kylinn laying on her back underneath the foot rest. now don't freak out, she didn't get smashed or anything, she always lays on the floor with her legs fully extended on the underside of the footrest. for some reason, she pushed up with her legs and because adam was in the chair, it came back down the inch that she had moved it up. and with that, she let out a whimper, and then just laid there are cried. i ran right over to pick her up and we looked all over for a sign of injury but there was absolutely nothing.
the next morning, she would not walk or even put pressure on it. she woke up crying in bed, but with no bruising, swelling, heat, etc. so we took her to her pediatrician for an exam and x-rays and they found nothing. we stumped the doctors in the office and they collaboratively decided that it must be a strained ligament in the bottom of her knee as by thursday she was crawling, or scooting. friday she finally tried to walk again, and has walked with a limp ever since.
tomorrow we are going to see a pediatric orthopaedist to see what to do next. after a week on motrin every six hours, her pain is still there and it's pretty severe at times. i'll be sure to let you all know what happens but keep your fingers crossed that we don't need an mri as 45 minutes of forcing a toddler to keep still seems like torture.
oh, and if i also forgot to tell you all... almost two weeks ago i found out that i have a kidney stone lodged in my ureter that probably won't move until after i have the baby. how sweet is that?

UPDATE 11/14
kylinn has an appointment with the orthopod on friday. hopefully all will go well because we'll be rockin' with dan zanes that evening regardless!
my kidney stone is microscopic and for the most part painless. my kidney itself is sore and slightly enlarged (gross, i know) but it's not at all like the ones that cause men to go fetal. i have another ultrasound on saturday and a follow-up appt later in the month.
Awwww poor Ky!! Well I hope she is ok and all goes well...let me know what the doc says. And I'm sorry about your small kidney stone...hopefully it won't cause you too much trouble or irritation and everything is ok with that throughout the rest of your pregnancy! I still wanna see a pic of you btw :) You're due in Jan. right, when again? I'm excited to found out if you're having a boy or girl hehe.
