i made amends with an old friend today

this is my yamaha cg-100 which i received from my father at the tender age of eight. one would think, that after eighteen years of having said guitar, that one would be able to play such guitar. no such luck. after realizing in 1990 that i would never become madonna's lead guitarist, i put my dear guitar away for a good long while. she did have a couple brief appearances to play parts of "smoke on the water" and "alone" and then again in the late nineties when (caught up with lilith fair inspiration) i thought that i could teach myself some sarah mclachlan songs. playing piano, however, doesn't hurt your fingers, so i went back to that. and then, sadly, i gave up music entirely for entirely too long. today, though, was a different story. i laid ky down for a nap, picked up my guitar and worked on those A, E and D major chords again. and it felt good.

I have been having "music time" with Logan, where I pull out the guitar and jam out a few hard lines of "Mary Had A Little Lamb".

don't be embarassed that you interact with your child, but if you're a doodlebop for halloween this year i'll totally out you.
