ahhhh to be a grown-up

thanks to my neighbors bill & kristen, adam and i scored tickets to go see oklahoma! on saturday. (baby alex is home and doing well, and they were planning on wasting the tickets) never one to miss a free night out, we quickly booked a sitter and were off for (much needed) cocktails and hors d'ouvres before the show. as we sat at the bar, we realized how little we talked and how much observing we were doing. we actually were at a surprisingly now-cool bar that we will definitely need to return to. we need to get out more. all of us, but you already knew that.

i also wanted to say happy anniversary to some really cool people:
jj & todd (02/13) lauren & jon (02/14) and my all-time favorite singer and husband (my objet d'lust) sarah mclachlan and ashwin sood (02/07). congrats to all!!

and here's a pic of my darling freddy enjoying some of costco's finest pizza saturday afternoon.

Awwww...thanks for remembering! That was really nice of you. Glad you two got out. Ky's looking mightly cute with that Costco pizza. I'm about to blog about the Costco salmon we had tonight. Thank Meagan!

By the way, Jon sent an e-mail to Sarah and my Mom the other week asking if a gift he had found would be a good idea for our anniversary. Being that I like to sit on the couch at night and blog and that I'm often cold, he wanted to get me a "Skanket", wait, no, "Slanket". Something like that. It's a blanket with arms.Sarah totally saved me. She replied to Jon "I would leave you". Thanks Sarah.

yes, i was aware of the personally marriage-altering gift idea. when you are in your 70's i will recommend that to jon, or any othe day during this year for absolutely no reason whatsoever. a skank-ho, slanket, blancoat, whatever is not a good gift for an anniversary. we girls like bling and lots of it. tee hee.

You are so right meagan. I already picked out the next bling (not skanket) I would like as an anniversary gift...... a three stone, emerald cut diamond ring . The center stone should be 2.0 carats and the two sides .6 carats, platinum setting. I spend too much time thinking of bling. It is one of my downfalls. I'm very thankful for the bling I do have..but a girl can never have to much. Hmm...maybe a new set of earrings would be nice........

isn't izzy's amazing? damn.. their cassata cake is incredible. i'll email you the bar name (you will crack up because it's apparently like the 30-something pick-up bar. haha. how funny is that? oh, good times. i didn't want to post the name because i'd rather be selective in whoever knows about my new/old posh place since i'm so damned cliquey.

that's some anniversary celebration. you too, lauren. damn. we spent our second anniversary in florida. ahh life, sans bebe....

i'm sorry, jj. i knew she was sick but she didn't seem as sick as you had said that she was. i know how hard it is to lose a pet. let todd know that we're thinking of him.

Sorry to hear about your loss. I had to deal with the loss of one of my dogs last summer (we had to give her up because she didn't get along with our son), and while it's not the same, it still took a long time to get over it.

We go to Anchor Bay, and they are some of the best people around. We've been with one of the vets there for at least 15 years.
