take time to think of yourself and your family

it's been a rough weekend for almost everyone i've been in contact with.

baby alex became ill on wednesday, was put on antibiotics and his heart surgery was postponed. the nurses scared my neighbors into the possibility of a rare genetic mutation that was later tested and found to be totally false. nevertheless, the time waiting for the results were some of the scariest of my life and i am not even his parent. by saturday evening, they were able to take alex off of the ventilator and he is going into surgery today at noon. i'll keep you all updated.

a woman from my sister (and lauren's) bradley class just lost her husband. she has one child about a year old and is due with her second in just a few months. they just moved into a new home two weeks ago.

my good friend was in a car accident, but (thankfully) is fine.

on saturday, we took grandma (great-grandma to ky) vanover to lunch as it was the one-year anniversary from when we lost grandpa. it's amazing to see her strength now.

take these as learning experiences. we are not certain of anything. make it a priority to get your life insurance and wills in order. and tell everyone that you love them.
