hathaway house is no more

while reading last wednesdays voice news, i came across a story that the historic (and very haunted) hatheway house was to be torn down. as i drove by on thursday, it was all ready demolished and is now a gigantic pile of bricks.

I loved the passage in that article that I'll paraphrase below:

"Yeah, we're going to take it down brick by brick. We're averaging about 3,000 bricks a day. We're making good progress, and we'll continue until the structure collapses."

It's too bad, because that was a pretty cool house - but it really was ready to collapse at any moment, so better to build a new home on the site and salvage the materials.

i know- i thought the same. i wondered if they got through 3,000 bricks and then it just fell- i remember reading back in feb (?) that the entire sub-structure was already gone. and yes, it's great that they're salvaging, but would you really want haunted old radiators and bricks at your house? eeks!

furthermore- there will be two homes on the site, not just one. i hope they look cool like our homes and not some dumb, well, i'm not going to specify since i'm sure to offend someone. :)

as long as they aren't "manufactured", I'll be happy with anything they put there.
